Why the Peacock?
I sincerely believe that everyone has the ability to transform oneself into the person they wish to be on every level. Much has been said about “living your true potential”, “finding your divine path” and even though these are clichés, we are all either consciously or unconsciously on the path of transformation. I have chosen the peacock to represent my website, since I have always been drawn to this amazing bird.
The peacock’s reputation in modern society has been much maligned. This once noble symbol is now associated with vanity, arrogance and pride. In many cultures however, the peacock is revered. In fact, he often represents love, nobility, prosperity, compassion, the soul and peace. In China and Japan, the peacock is sacred to the goddesses of mercy, Kwan-yin and Kwannon. Legend says that the peacock often represents the phoenix, rising up from the ashes. He is also an emblem of rebirth, immortality and the actual process of glorification (the process by which the earthly material body transforms into the pure, incorruptible one). This beautiful bird can inspire us to change, to live our full potential and transform our bodies and minds.
I invite you all to explore my website and hope that you, too, will be inspired to continue your transformation, and just as the peacock unfolds his beautiful tail, you will discover the beauty within.
